PADI Open Water Diver
Why PADI
Open Water Diver?
The PADI Open Water Diver
certification is the world's
most widely recognised scuba
diving qualification. Open Water
Divers are able to dive,
unsupervised, with a suitably
qualified buddy almost anywhere
in the world.
What do I need to start?
As long as you are at least
10 years of age, or older, and
can swim for 200 metres, in a
swimming pool, without stopping,
then you can become an Open
Water Diver. Apart from that,
all you need are your own mask,
fins (with boots if appropriate)
and snorkel which we can help
you choose from the wide
selection available in the Dive
Centre.
How long does it take?
The course is divided into
three parts, theory, confined
water dives and open water
dives. The theory is
studied in your own time using PADI's award winning
eLearning educational
materials (don't worry -
"theory" might sound daunting
but it's really quite straight
forward.) Throughout the course
you will complete short quizes
to make sure you have understood
each section before sitting the
final exam on-line You will
complete two theory sessions on
your course with Ocean Turtle.
Once you have passed the final
exam you will attend an
induction session in the
dive
centre, normally on a
Saturday afternoon, where you
will meet your instructor and
the other course members. During
this session we will answer any
questions you may have,
introduce you to your diving
equipment and get you to sit a
further quick review of the
material you learned on-line.
After that you will spend four
Thursday evenings in the
pool , where you will
complete the five
confined water dives, learning
twenty key skills..
Normally the four Open Water
dives, needed to complete your
certification, will be conducted
at
Wraysbury and
Vobster Quay on the
Saturday and Sunday following
the final confined water
session.

UK diving we have reduced our

£379 per person
